PROBLEM: Happy Home preparatory school in Senya Beraku, Ghana was built as a temporary solution to help provide education for the kids at Becky’s Home and the local community. 12 years later the school is dilapidated and dangerous and has had to close. The Children have been dispersed to schools requiring very long journeys, and unfortunately for some children, the schools are full so they are not getting their education.

SOLUTION: Arms Around The Child have embarked on an ambitious project to build a new school. We have acquired the land and the building has started with the help and support of Christian Atsu (Ghanaian Footballer). The progress has been delayed through the COVID pandemic, but is now able to resume. So far, the school has all the foundations, pillars, cementing, walls, and wooden roof frame. We need to fund the roofing sheets, plastering, flooring, electrics, and plumbing to finish the building.

HAPPY ENDING: Lazy Susan Furniture has stepped in to help and offered to match fund your donations to the sum of £12.5k to enable us to reach the target of £25k to complete the school building. We are aiming to open the school in July 2023.
